-lya
thy, your
-lya 2nd person sg. formal/polite pronominal suffix "thy, your" (VT49:16, 38, 48). In tielyanna "upon your path" (UT:22 cf. 51), caritalya(s) "your doing (it)" (VT41:17), esselya "thy name" (VT43:14), onnalya "your child" (VT49:41, 42), parma-restalyanna *"upon your book-fair" (VT49:38), and, in Tolkien's Quenya Lord's Prayer, in the various translations of "thy kingdom": aranielya in the final version, earlier turinastalya, túrinastalya, turindielya, túrindielya (VT43:15). Also in indómelya (changed from mendelya) "thy will" (VT43:15-16)
Beware, older languages below! The languages below were invented during Tolkien's earlier period and should be used with caution. Remember to never, ever mix words from different languages!
thast
noun. shaving
A noun appearing as G. thast “shaving” in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s as a noun form of G. thas- “shave”, along with an abstract form thathri “shavings, sawdust” (GL/72).
Conceptual Development: When the entry was first written, this word was initially glosses “a razor”, while thathra was “shaving”. Then thathra was deleted and thast became “a razor, shaving”, and finally just “shaving” as noted above.
Neo-Sindarin: Since I retain ᴺS. thas- “shave” I would keep ᴺS. thast as well, but I would use it for “shaving(s)” the result of shaving, and would use the gerund ✱thased for the act of shaving.

thasc
adjective. shaven
An adjective appearing as G. {thathra >>} thasc “shaven” in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s, an adjectival form of G. thas- “shave” (GL/72).
Neo-Sindarin: I would adapt this word as ᴺS. thasg “shaven” for purposes of Neo-Sindarin, since sc usually became sg in Sindarin of the 1950s and 60s.

root. shave
A hypothetical early root to explain Gnomish words like G. thas- “shave” and G. thast “shaving”. For purposes of Neo-Eldarin I would update this root to ᴺ√THATH to salvage these Gnomish words, where the s in these words is the result of dissimilation away from the initial th.
