Name for a Black Blade

Bruno Romualdo (Varnion Ómacolindo) #2487

I recently got a knife with a handle made of a beautiful resin blue like the starry blue sky, and the blade dark as night.

As there is already mormacil for black sword, I thought of naming it Morialcar (mor = black, darkness and alcar splendour) something like Black Splendor (the Splendor of the first dawn and Black of the blade's darkness).

I'm not sure if Mor (black, darkness) can be used with Alcar because it's a splendor/radiance of light and they're totally opposites (although the idea is pretty cool lol).

Yes Morialcar (or alternatively Moralcar with the bare root) should work. Sure, the name is a bit of an oxymoron like you said (alcar < ak’la·r is derived from KAL- “light”), but that’s the point after all.

Suilaid, mellon nin!

Perhaps also you might consider Morbanath, "Black Beauty"?

Great suggestion my friend :)

I also thought of other names but I decided on Morialcar because I already have a story for her that matches her format and materials, and the name need be in Quenya(like me, Varnion). Take a look at Black Splendor and you'll understand the name.
