This root appeared as unglossed ᴱ√VETE in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s with derivatives ᴱQ. velte “beard” and ᴱQ. venta “chin” (QL/101). I think it is worth positing a Neo-Root √BENET “chin” to salvage the latter word, perhaps as an elaboration on ᴹ√BEN “angle”.
