Early Quenya
soveasse
noun. resemblance; likelihood
Beware, older languages below! The languages below were invented during Tolkien's earlier period and should be used with caution. Remember to never, ever mix words from different languages!
soveasse
noun. resemblance; likelihood
The Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s had ᴱQ. soveasse “resemblance; likelihood” based on ᴱQ. sovea “alike” (QL/82).
Neo-Quenya: Boris Shapiro proposed the neologism ᴺQ. óveassë in PPQ (PPQ) from the early 2000s to replace soveasse. This word based on his neologism óvea “alike”, but several years later Tolkien’s own word ovéa “alike” was published, so I would update this neologism to ovëassë with a short o.
