Hello everyone. I need a help to translate my common name into Quenya, in English it means "God-given"/"given by God". This name has many forms in many languages: Deodatus (latin)/Bohdan(slavic)/Nethaniel/Matthew (from hebrew) etc. I tried to translate the name myself, but there are several problems here:
-
I can not simply translate the word "given" and give it the usual ending of the male name "-on" to Quenya/Sindarin, because the result: Eruanon, God "Eru" + word "give, gift" anno/anto + ending "-on". 'CAUSE in Quenya, word "anon" it’s also "son". I definitely do not want to be literally "son of the God". Also I can not accept this option because in the famous Christian prayer "Hail Mary, full of grace..." used a similar Eruanno ..... (full quote: Aia María quanta Eruanno) that has another meaning.
-
I can’t take the variant Eruanton because Anton is a famous male name, especially in Eastern Europe...
I'll be grateful for help.
