Name Translating

Batuhan Duman #3634

Hello There!

My name is Batuhan. The name Batu has more than one meaning. Some of them are as follows: It means the one who has all power, the one who is superior to everyone else and the victor. At the same time, the name Batu is a name that is widely used in the old Turkish states. Han means ruler, ruler. I want to create a masculine nickname. I'm too amateur for this, but I did something simple, can you help me please?

In Quenya: melehta(mighty)+ion,on = melehtarion, melehtaron or

poldorë(strong)+ion,on = poldoron, poldorion?

Since I did not know the dictionary, I translated it myself. I am open to examples of different words if there are experts in the field. It can also be Sindarin language. Thanks.

Greetings Batuhan Duman. While I can't help with Quenya, I can offer some Sindarin.

Belegon - “Great/Mighty One (Male)” suggested by Fiona J. on RealElvish.net

Thalion - “Steadfast, Strong” this is a sobriquet of Húrin, translated “Steadfast”.

Balhir - If you want one that is a combination of your name we could combine √BAL “power; powerful, mighty; have power” + hîr, “lord, prince; [N.] valour”.

Note There is no parallel for Sindarin lh in English. But it is like ll in Welsh or ł in Navajo, or Quenya hl. More specifically, it is a voiceless alveolar lateral, like s when spoken in a lateral lisp. If nothing else works, try pronouncing l while whispering.

Baldor using √BAL + suf. -dor “*king, lord” so that can work as well.
