Quenya parting phrase

Hello there!

I am looking to adapt the beautiful phrase “elen síla lúmenn’ omentielvo” to be a goodbye, rather than a greeting (it may become a senior yearbook quote). Unfortunately, my knowledge of Quenya is next to nonexistent, so I would be grateful if someone could help with this! Is there a way to make it mean something more like “a star shines on the hour of our parting”? Alternatively, if there is no adequate translation, is it possible to change it to the past tense- so, “a star shone on the hour of our meeting”?

I think that saying "a star shines on the hour of our parting" carries a very negative connatation, like saying "good riddance, it is good that we are parting at last". I assume this is not what you intended to say.

The other option should be fine. It can be rendered easily in two ways, with a slight nuance:

• Elen sille lúmenn' omentielvo "a star shone upon the hour of our meeting".

• Elen sílane lúmenn' omentielvo "a star was shining upon the hour of our meeting".
