Sindarin for "Lady's Favour" or "Lady's Token"

david wendelken #2903

For the proper mindset, think of a token, typically of cloth with a badge or coat of arms upon it, that a lady would give to her champion to wear as a token of her esteem, perhaps woven with charms of protection for its bearer.

I'm looking for a term that suits this object.

Here are some words I've found that might be useful:

heruin lady

heryn lady

rodel lady, high lady

híril lady

taen sign

*gwir, to weave

*gwer, to weave, spin, wind, twist

*nathron (m) weaver

*nethril (f) weaver

*list grace, favour, kindness

Here are some examples that might be useful:

sâf list e cheruin, he has the favour of the lady

roch-cheruin, steed of the lady

roch na-heryna, horse of the lady

roch heryn, lady('s) horse. the lady's horse or a female horse?

hírilorn, tree of the lady or lady-tree. Again, confusing.

So, some possible options are:

list e cheruin,

list na-heryna

list-chehruin

list heryn

I'm still struggling thru the resources about the language and get easily confused. :(

I would say:

list e-cheruin (favor/grace of the lady)

taen list e-cheruin (sign/indicator of favor/grace of the lady)

For a noble lady, I think that list e-rodel or taen list e-rodel would be the right choice.

Unless one is supposed to modify the spelling of rodel in this instance???

en + r = edh r so list edh rodel or taen list edh rodel.
