Eldar translation check

mihrimah #2693

Hi all;

I'd to translate "Flat Arda Society" into one of the Eldar languages; Sindarin for preference, but Quenya is acceptable too; it's for a logo, so the way it looks in tengwar is more important than which language it's actually in.

So far using the lookup here I've come up with Gwadoras Amarladen in Sindarin, and Otornassë Ambarpalwa in Quenya; are these too off-base?

"Gwadoras" comes from "gwador" (sworn brother) and thus means community more in the sense of brotherhood. I'd opt for something more general. And "Arda" is a Quenya word meaning "realm" that elves used to refer to the world they lived in. The Sindarin cognate for "Arda" is "Ardhon", so I'd prefer to use that. Thus, here's what I offer:

govod Ardhon laden

In Tengwar:

  • General mode > govod Ardhon laden
  • Beleriand mode > govod Ardhon laden

(If you'd like a different font of Tengwar, you can go to Tecendil or Glaemscribe and play around with that.)
