Would anyone be willing to translate the first three chapters of my in-progress novel? This wasn't originally my idea, my assistant writer actually suggested this to our publicity manager as a sort of gimmick and/or exclusive content for the book's community.
I'll go into more detail later, and I will work out payments on a personal level, but here's some general info until then. The book is based within a medieval high-fantasy stemming inspiration from George R. R. Martin, Ursula K. Le Guin(Earthsea series), Tolkien obviously, and D&D probably being the biggest inspiration. For the book, I actually designed my own versions of Elvish and Orcish; while I used a few Tolkien words, the majority of the language remains my creation. The problem is it was never meant for large scripts, and though I could probably do it myself in my own language, I think the idea of paying tribute to Tolkien is fitting.
If you choose to partake, then I only ask you to keep any scripts and materials you work with confidential. The book is still HEAVILY in development, and only a few previews have been screened, so please, on a personal level, don't steal or sell my work. In the end product, it will be made clear of the source of the Tolkien translation and it's not my language and, of course, your credit. You will be credited in the manner of your choosing or not at all and instead be labeled an anonymous asset. Either way I won't be taking credit for your hard work.
