Name translation

Hello!

I'm trying to translate the name "Florian" into Quenya and Sindarin. The name originates from the latin "yellow" or "blonde" and later "flowering" or "blooming". Since these meanings are very different I thought to combine them into something like "yellow bloom". I am not sure this is the best way to do this though. Do you have any suggestions for the translation? Is it a solid idea to combine the different meanings?

Listing some options for the elements [Sindarin equivalents in brackets]:

• bloom/flower: loa “blooming” (though in Quenya primarily used as “year” as one cycle of growth), alalme, lós [S lûth], olos [S goloth] “inflorescence”, alma, losse, lóte, lotse [S loth] “flower”
• blonde/yellow: vaina, vanya [S gwain] “blonde”, malina [S malen] “yellow, golden” (Vanyarin tulca), laurea [S glaur, glóriel, glóren, mallen] “golden”.

There are also Q lávar “golden blossom”, S mallos “golden flower” as already existing words. One could combine these as Q Mallos (Mallóþ-), Laurelos (Laurelóþ-), Lávarmo/Loarmo..., S Mallothron, Glorloth... Tell me if there are any words in the lists above that you find particularly beautiful and want to include them, but I don’t think its useful if I write down all possible combinations.

Would Lósendir be a correct name as well? I think I want it based on the "blooming" element of the name, rather then a combination. The combination doesn't feel right. So I think I'd prefer the words lós [S lûth] or olos [S goloth] for a name.

I am trying to build an Epesse as well. I want it to mean "star-seeker". I was thinking of sur "seek" and elen "star" and a suffix, forming Surelethron. I am not sure how correct this is and it seems rather long which I am not too fond of.

How do you go about translating a name? Do you have a specific scheme to this?
