'Translation of name including 'crowned' and 'flowers/blossom'

drakekvark #4551

Hi! I want to create a name that basically reads as "crowned in blossom/flowers" or "crowned by blossom/flowers" in Sindarin.

It could be an individual flower too like for example: Elanor or Niphredil.

But I struggle to make it work so it appears as valid, can someone guide me?

I have collected these words in sindarin:

  • Lúth = blossom or Loth = flower
  • In = mi or Of = na(n)
  • Rîn = Crowned

Is this right?

Mae govannen drakekvark!

In Elvish names are not made up of phrases. A location could however.

Rin-nal-Lyth "Crowned with Flowers"

Take my name Celebrinor "Silver-Crowned" so you could

  • Lothrinor "Flower-Crowned" m.
  • Lothriniel "Flower-Crowned Daughter" f.
  • Lothrían "Flower-Queen" f.

Thank you! These were all lovely.

And yes my bad, I should have mentioned is was to be a female name. :-)

I really like Lothriniel!

Would also Lúthrîn be a valid name by the way? Or would it not be valid to Sindarin naming rules? Since Lûth/Lúth also means spell/charm it made me doubt if it was valid.

Well there is the attested S. Lúthien f. “Daughter of Flowers”.

So you could have Lúthriniel or Lúthrin.
