Name Translation.

Harry #4484

Hello! I was wondering if anyone would be able to translate the name Harry into both Quenya and Sindarin as well as the word Misery if possible.

Thank you!

Hello Harry! This should help with your name Harry.

So, no direct version of "misery", there is the ᴺS. naegos “anguish” and ᴺS. !naeras n. “sorrow, woe”. If those work for you.

Let's see what others say for Quenya.

Thank you Rínor!

Would you be able to translate more synonyms of the word misery into Sindarin? I would really appreciate it!

Hum.... Let me think.

Using the ᴺQ. !nwal- [ñ-], v. “to suffer, feel (great) pain” we could have gwal- in Sindarin. So "suffering" would be depending on how you used it.

gwaled "gerund "suffering"/Infinitive "to suffer" or gwalol Present Active Participle "suffering".

N. baul [mb-] n. “torment”

N. naeg n. “pain”

N. maur n. “gloom”

That's about all I can think of for now. Hope that helps.
