Sindarin Name Help

Mae govannen, mhellyn!

Is there any chance somebody could help me creating a Sindarin name for a friend of mine? I haven't quite learned how to create names yet (I just started learning Prestanneth, in fact), and I'm not 100% sure where to find/how to combine roots. The name I was looking for is something to do with their academic mindset. Studious or scholarly or some such adverb. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well there are a couple words we can use to form names.

• ᴺS. !goltha- [ng-] v. “to teach, educate, tutor, (lit.) make knowledgable”
• N., G. ist n. “lore, knowledge” this is how we get S. ithron n. “Wizard”
• N. golwen “wise, learned in deep arts”
• S., N., ᴱN. gûl [ng-] n. “black arts, sorcery, (evil) knowledge

Male names

• Golthon (teach/educate+male suffix, Golthor (teacher), Golthion (teach/educate-son)
• Iston (lore/knowledge+male suffix), Istion (son of lore/knowledge), Istonor (teacher)
• Golwenon (wise+male suffix), Golwenion (Wise-son)
• Gulon (evil knowledge+male suffix), Gulor (doer of black arts, sorcerer), Gulion (Son of evil knowledge)

One thing, though. My friend is a girl. Could I do something like Istwen (lore/knowledge+female suffix) instead? And does adding the suffix cause any sort of mutation or vowel reduction, or make a sound intervocalic (just in general)?

You are welcome. No mutation and just the normal phonetic sounds as far as I know. I haven't really delved into pronunciation that much. LOL Only time it may mutate is when you are adding two words together take Thangolron this is one I made up. *thand+colron "shild bearer"

Female names

• Golthiel (teach/educate-daughter), Golthes (teach/educate+female suffix), Golwen (teach maiden)
• Istoneth “teacher (f.), (lit.) knowledge giver”, unfortunately Istwen (lore/knowledge+female suffix) does not work. As far as I know there is no example fo -stw- or -sw-. Maybe istonwen (Knowledge giver maiden), and Istiel (lore/knowldge-daughter)
• Gulwen (evil knowledge maiden), Guleth (Evil knowledge-female suffix), Guliel (Daughter of evil knowledge)
