It's unclear to me exactly how to create a gloss- what information to put in where in the form. What is the basic process of submitting a gloss to the dictionary?
How do you create a gloss?
You can see what's supposed to go where by pressing the "edit" button on an existing word (and then proceed to cancel the edit and create a new word in the contributions tab on your account page)
What neologism do you have in mind?
Thanks! I'm thinking of words for "car," or "vehicle." Elvish isn't "modern" enough for too much use these days! It might not get used much, but it would be at least there for when it was needed. Rahaud: car/vehicle or conveyance similar to a car. It's a compound- rach-gaud means wagon-machine (in Sindarin).
I'm not sure if it's correct- I don't know too much real-life linguistics, and am only an amateur in Elvish. However, I am certain enough to submit it and see if I need to revise it.
That is an interesting proposition, but I don't believe that Elves (or Tolkien) would come up with such a construction, especially using a gerund as a concrete noun. And you have mixed Quenya and Sindarin. In light of your idea, however, I would suggest NQ. immenwa ⪤ NS. immem/immenu, leaving out redundant √NĀ and adding -ma.
Having suggested this redundant neologism, I would refrain from adopting it, since a car is basically a contemporary wain. Should we create a neologism for "modern ship," when we already have Q. cirya ⪤ S. cair? I don't think so.
That is a good point! Many modern words could simply be substituted by preexisting ones.
Hi Muigrohir!
