A neologism for “suspicion” coined by Luinyelle and posted on 2026-04-18 in the Vinyë Lambengolmor Discord Server (VLDS), a noun form based on hypothetical root ✱√NAW “suspect, guess” as variant of ᴹ√NOW “think, form idea, imagine”. These are both inspired by ᴱQ. naus (naust-) “suspicion” based on the early root ᴱ√NAVA from the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s. It is not clear whether a diphthong au is allowed before a cluster like st in Tolkien’s later writing. I personally think it is fine, but if you are concerned you can use noasta “suspicion” instead.
