A noun in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s for “a teazle”, a combination of G. tûs- “to tease wool” and G. lôs “flower” (GL/72). As indicated by the editors, a teazle is a prickly plant whose spiny heads were used for teasing wool in the early textile industry.
