Early Quenya

tapatenda mavoisi

noun. Spanish [chestnut]

A variant of ᴱQ. mavoisi “chestnut” that Tolkien labeled “Spanish”, so presumably a “Spanish chestnut” (QL/57). It is a combination of ᴱQ. tapatenda “long fingered” and ᴱQ. mavoisi “chestnut”, likely referring to the long and narrow leaves of that variant.
