Derivatives
An unglossed root in the Qenya Lexicon of the 1910s with derivatives like ᴱQ. paltya “flat of hand” and ᴱQ. pilty- “strike, esp. with flat hand” (QL/74). It later writings words for the flat of the hand were derived from √PAL: Q. palta and S. plad, probably a partial restoration of this early root (VT47/8).
