Gnomish

luv-

verb. to hang, lower (of clouds)

A verb in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s glossed “to hang, lower (of clouds)” (GL/55), probably a derivative of the early root ᴱ√LUVU as suggested by Christopher Tolkien (LT1A/Luvier), though in that note he incorrectly wrote the verb as lur- as pointed out by the editors of the Gnomish Lexicon.
