Early Quenya

lúke

noun. slime

A noun in both the Qenya Lexicon and Poetic and Mythological Words of Eldarissa of the 1910s glossed “slime”, derived from the root ᴱ√LUKU (QL/56). The root √LUK had other meanings in Tolkien’s later writings, and there is no obvious way to salvage this word.
