An old (Númenórean?) name for the region of Arnor, also appearing in the longer forms Forolondië and Turmen Follondiéva (PE17/28). It is a compound of the prefixal form for(o)- of formen “north” and londië “harbourage”. In the short name, the r of for- is assimilated to the l of londië.
