A neologism coined by Luinyelle posted on 2024-05-23 in the Vinyë Lambengolmor Discord Server (VLDS), a noun form of arëa “close, nearby”.
Quenya
arëa
adjective. close, nearby
areassë
noun. proximity, vicinity, nearness
latsë
noun. area, space, room
-non
suffix. -place, -spot (forms place-names, area nouns)
A suffix for “place” or “spot” coined by Röandil in a 2023-02-24 post to the Vinyë Lambengolmor Discord Server (VLDS) based on nómë “place” from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. As such its stem would end in m, as in Aldanon “Tree-place” becoming Aldanomesse “in Tree-place”. The suffix -non serves as an alternative to men, another popular suffix for “place, spot” in Quenya neologisms using the somewhat dated meaning of men from the 1930s. I personally considered both -non and -men to be acceptable for “place”, but think -men might also mean “way” consistent with its later meaning.
laimë
shade
laimë noun "shade" (DAY; in an earlier version the gloss was "shadow (cast by an object or form)"; see VT45:8-9. Perhaps Tolkien transferred this meaning to lëo when giving laimë the more general meaning "shade".)
lëo

lëo noun "shade, shadow cast by any object" (DAY)
lómin
shade, shadow
lómin noun "shade, shadow" (LT1:255)
ravanda
wilderness
?ravanda noun?, a form cited by Tolkien to elucidate the Noldorin word rhofan "wilderness"; it is not clear whether ravanda is meant as a Quenya cognate or just as an etymological (Old Noldorin?) form (VT46:10)
