-non

suffix. -place, -spot (forms place-names, area nouns)

A suffix for “place” or “spot” coined by Röandil in a 2023-02-24 post to the Vinyë Lambengolmor Discord Server (VLDS) based on nómë “place” from the 1940s, 50s and 60s. As such its stem would end in m, as in Aldanon “Tree-place” becoming Aldanomesse “in Tree-place”. The suffix -non serves as an alternative to men, another popular suffix for “place, spot” in Quenya neologisms using the somewhat dated meaning of men from the 1930s. I personally considered both -non and -men to be acceptable for “place”, but think -men might also mean “way” consistent with its later meaning.
