Translation help for a tattoo

Ithiliel #240

Hello =) I'm new here and really exited about this site, really great job, thank you very much for providing the content! I'm also a newby with this language - and so, there are my first questions and I hope, that somebody can help me :)

I'm getting a tattoo in August and I thought about different ones in Quenya. My first idea was something, that says "daughter of the earth and the moon" and I would prefer the word Rána for moon, like "Ambar yo Ráno", but I'm not sure, which word to use for daughter? Is it possible to use e.g. "Isiliel, Ambar yo Ráno"? And maybe I would use "imbi menel cemenye mene ráno tie" (e with two dots above) in addition. Which word for daughter would be right?

And my second idea would be this quote: "We’re all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one." But I have no idea for translation, in Quenya or Sindarin. Could somebody help me with this? :)

Thank you so much in advance!

Best regards, Ithiliel :)

Hello, I'll try it again - please, is there somebody, who could help me with this translation? Or with the word "daughter of"? I found these words for the second translation in Quenya: we are - nalmë story - nyarië all - ilya end - tyel

Could I write e.g. Nalmë nyariëtyel ilya? Something like that? Unfortunately, I do not know the word order in Quenya nor in Sindarin :( But I found a Quenya course and will try this during the summer, but If somebody with experience could help me - would be great! Thanks in advance!

Best regards, Ithiliel

There are a lot of things to address here, so I will skip most of them and keep this short. I will have to replace the words which you suggest, but I will keep Rána for your first request (instead of Isil [Iþil]). Both translations are in Quenya:

Yeldë Cemeno ar Ráno "Daughter of Earth and Moon" & Quenya+Tengwar
Mettassë nalvë nyarnar. Á carë mára ma. "In (the) end we’re(-all) stories. Make a good one." & Quenya+Tengwar

And the attested phrase "imbi Menel Cemenyë menë Ráno tië" in Tengwar.

@Elaran, thank you SO much! ♥

That is so helpful, thank you very much! :)

Edit: With which Transcriber did you convert "Mettassë nalvë nyarnar. Á carë mára ma."? Because if I transcribe it with Glaemscribe, it looks a little bit different (I didn't realise, that you were so nice and already did this for me - I checked the link after my transcribtion with glaemsribe and realised the difference, because I had both open) ^^

Thanks again for your help! :)

It's not about the transcriber. I had translated it differently at first, and then realised that that was an Anglicism. So I changed the translation but forgot to update the Tengwar image. It is now updated.

Ah, okay, thanks for the explanation! And your help!! :)
