Translation Help:

Amon Rawya #3715

Hello! Hope you are all well.

I was hoping to get some help for my first tattoo. I'd like to choose a phrase/poem fragment and turn it into Tengwar script, but not English-Tengwar. I'd prefer English-Quenya/Sindarin-Tengwar if at all possible, though I know not all of these will be directly translatable. Any help (even if just for one or two!) is greatly appreciated. No rush either!

Also any suggestions for other quotes are welcome :) Thank you!

  • "To whatever end".

  • "We still remember, we who dwell, in this far land beneath the trees, thy starlight on the Western Seas."

  • "Lands there are to west of West."

(Quenya is the preferred mode, but if it doesn't translate well, Sindarin is okay too :)

Hello Amon Rawya! It is also generally accepted in this community that Quenya/Sindarin translations are not the best idea for tattoos. Our understanding of the language is often evolving and getting rewritten, so what is deemed "accurate" today might not be correct tomorrow.

You'd be better off transcribing the English words into Tengwar (which is the writing system - just the letters). They'll probably be able to help you in www.reddit.com
