Numerals

Warrior Rabbit #2252

Hi,

I'm very new at this and I was just curious about some inconsistencies I've noticed when looking up numbers. For example, the number 1 translates as 'min' and 11 is 'minquë'. The number 3 = 'neldë' and 13= 'nelquë (nelequë)'. However the number 2 translates to 'atta' or 'satto', but the number 12 is 'yunquë'.

Shouldn't the 12 be 'atque' or 'satquë' or the number 2 just be 'yun'?

I appreciate any insight on this!

The "inconsistency" happens because of how the word is formed: yunquë "twelve" doesn't have "two" in it, it's rather "six twice" (yu- "both (of); twice" + enquë "six").
