Hi everyone. Here comes the question.

If ''in the towers'' can be translated into ''mindonden'' in the plural? Like ''Menelde'',''cemende'' in the singular.

Where have you seen **mindonden? I don't think that's accurate. I'd rather use *mi mindoni "within [the] towers".

I for one find a locative plural *mindonden (vs. Nsg. mindon) just as plausible as Tolkien's own similar form, the locative singular cemendë (vs. Nsg. cemen), until someone offers a credible argument why I shouldn't.

P.S. Some may get the idea that mindon is a derivation like andon and should hence have the inflexional stem mindond-, but the attested allative plural forms mindonnar and mindoninnar disprove this theory, showing that Tolkien kept the old stem mindon- (from QL:61).
